This just in from a soaking wet James Overstreet. He’s camped out in Cooter’s Pond and found Shaw Grigsby. Last week the Florida pro finished 24th at the Bassmaster Elite Series event on Lake Guntersville. Not surprisingly, what drove the respectable finish was Grimsby’s sight fishing skills.
He’s doing that in Cooter’s Pond. Grigsby is working individual beds he most likely found in practice. There is one handicap in the way of the view. It’s the heavy rain that’s moved into the area. The dim light, combined with the low visibility created by the raindrops, makes it difficult to sight in on the fish. But a master can find ways around even the toughest conditions. Grigsby put one fish in the box and is looking for more.
It’s not so easy elsewhere in the pond. Gerald Swindle worked a fish for roughly 45 minutes, only to have it snap his line upon the hook set.
More rain is on the way, making it more difficult for the sight fishing.
