BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — B.A.S.S. officials announced today that, after an investigation and appeals process, Bryan New’s disqualification from the St. Croix Bassmaster Open at Santee Cooper Lakes presented by SEVIIN has been upheld.
The disqualification was handed down based on a violation of Rule C7 of the Bassmaster Opens Series rules, the Angler Code of Conduct, specifically, intentionally interfering with an anglers ability to compete.
New’s appeal was heard yesterday by a three-person panel which included two Bassmaster Opens anglers — neither of whom competed in the 2024 Santee Cooper Open — and a B.A.S.S. employee who is not part of the Tournament Department.
