Ben Milliken is swinging big here on Toledo Bend to start Day 2 of the St. Croix Bassmaster Open.
The Day 1 leader entered the day with 29 pounds, 8 ounces.
The Texan is rotating through an assortment of really big baits and caught his first bass, a 4-pounder, at around 7:15. Another one attempted to eat his bait at the boat, but was never hooked.
Milliken focused on a set of points early this morning where he could see the bass on his forward-facing sonar. At one point he mentioned there we a couple 7-pounders following his bait back to the boat.
He has hit several different areas this morning and at his latest stop, a deeper offshore area, Milliken landed another good keeper at around 8:20 followed by his third fish of the day a couple casts later.
“They are finally set up right,” he said.
