Davis is a member of the Mortimer Jordan High School fishing team. Along with a passion for competition and love of fishing, Davis also has a true compassion for helping children. During the summers when his tournament schedule allows, Davis volunteers on weekends at a childrenâs camp, and his favorite activity is teaching the campers how to fish.
Penney is a senior from Boaz, Ala., and has been fishing since he was 3 years old. Penney has five tournament wins to his name in the last year. Penney also won the 2014 Airport Marine Classic on Lay Lake.
Cummings is a senior at Centennial High School in Peoria, Ariz., has six tournament wins, and in the 2014/2015 season, Cummings ranked third in Arizona state B.A.S.S. Nation. Cummings also qualified for the National Lake Fork High School Open.
Mazy, a junior from Phoeniz, Ariz., is a two-time Bassmaster High School All-State qualifier. Mazy competes on the Arizona High School B.A.S.S. Nation and finished first at the B.A.S.S Nation High School Western Divisional Championship on Clear Lake.
Dugger is a member of the River Valley Youth Fishing Club out of Pottsville, Ark. Dugger earned a first-place finish at the Arkansas BASS Nation National Championship qualifier on Brewer Lake. Dugger is a member of a team that had 14 Top 5 finishes last season.
Along with his brother, Dugger is also a member of the River Valley Youth Fishing Club out of Pottsville, Ark. Dugger earned a first-place finish at the Arkansas BASS Nation National Championship qualifier on Brewer Lake and is a member of a team that had 13 Top 5 finishes last season.
Johns is a junior at Vista Del Lago High School in Folsom, Calif. He has four Top 5 finishes from tournament around the state including such fisheries as the California Delta and Clear Lake.
Colwell is a sophomore at Windsor High School in Windsor, Colo. He is a new member of Windsor High School fishing team and he as already made quite an impact. Colwell has four wins and six Top 5 finishes to his name.
Fitzgerald is a member of the Fountain Valley Junior Bass Club in Salida, Colo. He earned a fourth-place finish at the SAF High School Regional Championship on Clear Lake in California. Fitzgerald was also named a two-time Fountain Valley Junior Bass Club angler of the year.
Horelick has been fishing with the RI Junior Bassmasters for several years. Last year, she placed second in the state qualifier. Horelick also volunteers at the Eastern Regional tournaments and assists with catch-and-release.
Butler, of Dover, Fla., was one of the founding members of the Strawberry Crest High School Bassmasters. Butler has five Top 5 finishes to his credit including a third-place finish at the High School Championship on Lake Okeechobee.
Childs is the founder and president of the North Oconee Tight Line Titans fishing club. He started the high school team his freshman year, and now the team has more than 15 active members. The Tighline Titans have participated in numerous conservation projects over the last year including water willow growth and a fish conservation project.
Stahl is a senior at Cross Pointe Christian Academy in Griffin, Ga., and has five wins to his credit including the Georgia State Championship on Lake Hartwell. Stahl has received a fishing scholarship from the Savannah College of Art and Design.
McKinney is a member of the Benton Bass Fishing team in Benton, Ill., and has earned five tournament wins and 11 Top 5 finishes in the last year. He will graduate as a Valedictorian of the Benton High School Class of 2016.
Richardson is a member of the Benton Bass Fishing team in Benton, Ill. He helps promote the future of fishing by working as a volunteer at local youth fishing days. Richardson has five wins and seven Top 5 finishes to his name. Richardson also earned a spot to fish the B.A.S.S. Nation Northern Divisional representing the state of Illinois. He finished in first place on the high school side, fourth place overall and weighed in the largest bag of the tournament.
Albertson, of Bloomington, Ind., established a club to be able to compete in the B.A.S.S. sanctioned events. He constantly shares his knowledge with all members of his club by taking them fishing and helping them with techniques. Albertson won the 2015 angler of the year award on the high school trail.
Mullis is a senior from Bloomington, Ind., and fishes for the Southside Anglers. Mullis has earned four wins and six Top 5 finishes. He will compete for the second year at the Costa Bassmaster High School National Championshi[ in 2016.
Minton is a sophomore from Marion, Iowa. Minton reached out to secure a sponsorship for his club and volunteered at the sports show in order get kids interested in bass fishing. He has four Top 5 finishes to his credit and earned a second-place finish in the Iowa state tournament.
Torson is a senior from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and has earned two first-place finishes in the past year. He was angler of the year for the Eastern Iowa High School Bassmasters last year and was voted in as president this year. At his clubâs last meeting, Torson brought in several rods, reels and baits to speak about what baits to use, when and how to use them.
Heinen is a member of the Capitol City Bass Hawgs and has earned four wins, including a first-place finish in the Kansas State Youth Finals Championship. Heinen is also an active member of Fishing Futures and volunteers his time at boat shows.
Nimrod of De Soto, Kan., would not be deterred when his school would not sponsor a bass fishing team; instead, he took it upon himself to start his own. From there, he has spread his joy and enthusiasm for the sport. He is willing to help anyone learn more about catching fish. Nimrod earned a first-place finish at the Kansas High School state qualifier on Pamona Lake.
Moore of Waynesburg, Ky., fished a total of 13 tournaments in 2015 and placed in the Top 5 in 11 of those; while claiming 4 victories. His success has been the result of numerous hours on the water and having all of needed equipment prepared before tournament day. During Mason’s 8th grade year, he was one of the first middle school student athletes to qualify for the KHSAA State Championship.
Roberts is a member of the Perry County Central Bass Fishing Team and has earned six Top 5 finishes, including two second-place finishes in the Kentucky BASS Nation High School Series. He earned Kentucky B.A.S.S. Nation High School points champion.
Chaney of Lafayette, La., is a member of the David Thibodaux Bass Team. He worked numerous hours to develop a bass fishing team at his high school and this year has worked to encourage other schools to develop teams of their own. He was able to get two other schools to begin clubs as well.
Holt is a senior from Otis, La., and has earned 10 tournament wins within the past year. He was also the founding member of his high school bass club and has served as president of the club for the past two years.
Behen is a junior at Biddeford High School in Biddeford, Maine. He has two first-place finishes to his credit, and also served as junior tournament director and this year will do the same in the adult club.
McClosky is a member of the Southern Garrett Bass Slayers out of Swanton, Md. He has six Top 5 finishes, including one win on Deep Creek Lake. McClosky competes weekly throughout the summer in adult tournaments and is currently working on a YouTube fishing show with one of his club members.
Wallace of New Market, Md., was very instrumental in starting his high school’s B.A.S.S. sanctioned fishing club. He did this not only for his love of the sport and strong desire to compete against other high school anglers, but more importantly to introduce those students to bass fishing who were never given the opportunity he was given. Wallace has four wins and seven Top 5 finishes from the past year.
McQuaide of Tyngsborough, Mass., is a member of the Massachusetts High School club and has six wins this past year, in addition to his 21 career tournament wins. He has volunteered to take other kids, veterans and kids with disabilities fishing, and McQuaide started his own bait company at age 13.
Peterson is a sophomore at Brainerd High School in Brainerd, Minn. He has earned three wins and three Top 5 titles. Peterson also served as a full-time volunteer last summer with the Fun ‘N’ Friends enrichment and learning program.
Stearns of Lakeville, Minn., help to start the Lakeville fishing team and has two first-place finishes to his name, including an 82-team Viking Invitational tournament on Lake Minnetonka. He is also very involved in charity bass tournaments. Most recently, Stearns participated in the 2016 Lakeville Community Ice Fishing Event: Drill holes for kids ice fishing contest.
Duncan of Summit, Miss., is a member of the North Pike Fishing Team. He met with the U.S. Forestry Service biologist in late 2015 and became a volunteer at Okhissa Lake. Duncan learned that the current survey (shocking) only shows shallow fish and the biologist needed more creel information. He is working to collect creel information that will help the biologist make decisions on what the lake needs to grow quality bass.
Combs of Ozark, Mo., is a sophomore at Ozark High School. He finished first in the Missouri State High School Bass Fishing Championship out of 78 total teams. Combs has earned $3,200 in college scholarships through Missouri High School bass fishing tournaments.
Schroeder is a sophomore at Lindbergh High School in St. Louis, Mo. In 2015, he fished more than 12 high school bass tournaments. Schroeder finished first in the Missouri State Championship, which qualified him for the conference championship. He also finished first in the Southwest Missouri High School Tournament.
Ebbers of Cambridge, Neb., earned a first-place finish at the B.A.S.S. Nation High School State Tournament Maple Creek Reservoir. Ebbers has learned his extensive fishing knowledge from spending countless hours researching techniques and strategies from online and print publications. He works for a local farmer to save money for college and to purchase his own tackle and equipment. He has also used his savings to purchase his own boat.
When Bates of Chichester, N.H., and his team traveled to Tennessee to compete in the B.A.S.S. High School Championship Tournament in July, Bates spent hours researching Kentucky Lake to put together a pattern for the tournament. Bates has earned four Top 5 finishes and also won angler of the tear during his second year of tournament fishing with the New Hampshire Junior Bassmasters.
Topken of Allendale, N.J., has earned two wins and six Top 5 finishes in the past year. He was also awarded the 2015 Hooked Junior Bassmasters Angler of the Year title.
Sosa-Carver is a senior and member of the Mesilla Valley Bass Anglers. He has always been eager to volunteer with any habitat projects, including helping the New Mexico B.A.S.S. Nation Conservation Officer, Earl Conway, establish under water structure on Elephant Butte Lake. Sosa-Carver has also put on several clinics teaching interested individuals how to use fishing equipment and to be productive on the water.
Arndt has been the president of his local club â New York High School bass fishing club âfor the past three years and has led the club in many different ways. He is a two-time New York state team high school and adult team member.
Hammermueller is a member of the Carolina Bassers and has eight wins to his credit and received four big fish awards. For the past few years, Hunter has also volunteered at the Fayetteville FireAntz Operation Toy Drop.
Howard of Lucama, N.C., is the founder of the Hunt High School fishing club and has assisted in bringing awareness to youth fishing through boat shows and other open house style boating/fishing events. He has created a website with videos sharing tips and tricks from his experiences. Howard also fishes with an adult club and was named angler of the year in 2015, and is the youngest angler to be named angler of the year in the existence of the club.
Biram is a member of the Jenks High School fishing team out of Tulsa, Okla. He is the reason his high school started a fishing club and has worked to grow the sports popularity at his school. Biram earned a first-place finish at the Oklahoma B.A.S.S. Nation Team Trail event on Lake Hudson, as well as three Top 5 tournament finishes.
Keenom of Meeker, Okla., has been an active tournament fisherman since the age of 4 and has seven wins to his name. In 2010, Keenom began building his own soft plastics and jigs for use in tournaments. He has participated in habitat building with youth clubs plus many hours with Casting Kids events and fishing clinics. Keenom is active with the soft plastics recycling program where used soft plastics are remolded into new baits and distributed to youth organizations free of charge.
Degree of Redmond, Ore., is a member of the Ridgeview Bassmasters. He has two wins and six Top 5 finishes in the past year. Degree has also volunteered in the C.A.S.T. for Kids program for past 5 years.
Bezak is a member of both the Punxsutaweny Christian School B.A.S.S. Master High School Team and the Bassmasters of Crawford County Adult Club. He has two wins, including a first-place finish in the B.A.S.S. High School PA State Championship. Bezak was a 2015 Lunker B.A.S.S. High School State qualifier.
Fulks of Canonsburg, Penn., has earned three first-place finishes as well as a third-place finish in the PA High School State Championship on Memorial Lake. He has decided to pursue a college degree in Fisheries/Environmental Management to help make an impact in protecting the resources he greatly cherishes.
Clark of Travelers Rest, S.C., is a junior at Travelers Rest High School and the president of the Travelers Rest High School Devildog Anglers bass fishing team. Clark has earned two wins in tournaments topping 40-angler fields. Clark is also a volunteer instructor teaching fishing classes at Heritage & Gateway Elementary.
Smith was instrumental in getting his fishing team â the TRHS Devildog Anglers
â off the ground. Smith has earned two wins and five Top five finishes within the past year. He also qualified for South Carolina Department of Natural Resources High School State Championship the past two years. Smith is an instructor for three Teach-To-Fish classes at two local elementary schools, and he assisted in fishing habitat enhancement projects, boat landing clean-ups, and canned food drives with fishing team.
Fain started the bass fishing team at Lenoir City High School in Tennessee. He has nine wins to his credit, including seven high school club tournaments. He also earned the Big Bass award on Day 2 of the Costa Bassmaster High School Championship National Championship on Kentucky Lake. Fain is always willing to help members of the team by taking them fishing in his boat and sharing tips. With Fainâs leadership, his high school club now has 32 members.
Winter is a junior and fishes for Lenoir City High School Bass Club, which is now in it’s second year. He has qualified for the high school national championship for the second year in a row and has won three straight tournaments in the Next Generation High School Bass Series. He enjoys doing volunteer work with Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency.
Beebee of The Woodlans, Texas, was the president of his High School fishing team â The woodlands college park fishing team â for 2 years and is now the vice president for 2016 season. Beebee has three first-place finishes and three Top 5 finishes. He also earned the big bass award for 9-pound, 8-ounce pass caught out of Houston County Lake and the Texas Parks Junior Angler recognition award.
Stroud is a sophomore at Marble Falls High School and a member of its fishing team. He has two wins to his name and is the holder of the Captains Cup, Team Individual 1st Place in the Lake Travis Open. Being a boater, Stroud has opened his boat to team members that have no boat. He excels in learning from others and teaching those that want to learn more. Additional to being a boater, he is also an Officer with the Marble Falls High School Fishing Team.
Bellinghiri of South Hero, Vt., earned a first-place finish in the Vermont State BASS Championships on Lake Champlain. Bellinghiri also finished 17th overall in the Champlain Bass Series non-boater angler of the year points standings. Most recently, he has volunteered at the Yankee Classic Sportsman Show teaching young anglers how to cast at the “Casting for Kids” booth.
Rexford is a member of the South Burlington High School Bass Team and has earned a first-place finish in the Vermont State BASS Championships on Lake Champlain. He has had two Top 20 finishes in the Champlain Bass Series. Most recently, he has volunteered at the Yankee Classic Sportsman Show teaching young anglers how to cast at the “Casting for Kids” booth.
Kloby of Rhoadesvilles, Va., is a member of the Orange County High School Anglers bass fishing team. He has three wins and six Top 5 finishes. Kloby also is a member of Fisher’s of Men – VA. East Legacy Series, and he placed fifth overall for four events in the state standings 2015 which qualified him for the national event. He has also worked the State B.A.S.S. Nation booth at the Richmond, Va., Fishing Expo every year since 2011.
Lamm-Hoover of Chesterfield, Va., is a member of the Central Virgnia Junior Bass Anglers. He started fishing tournaments with the Virgina TBF youth organization at 12 years old and every year, he has qualified and competed in the state championship. Lamm-Hoover also earned the 2015 high school club team points champion title.
Caldwell of Berkeley Springs, W.V., just started fishing competitively in the last two years, and she placed second in the Fourlocks tournament on the Potomac River. Caldwell has played an important role in the fishing club since its beginning, and she was the first female in the school to fish tournaments.
Knotts is a member of the Berkeley Springs High School bass fishing club and has earned two first-place finishes on the Potomac River. He helped organize his high schoolâs bass fishing team and is currently serving as club president.
Bleser of Burlington, Wis., is a the founder of the Catholic Central High School bass fishing team. He hosts, as the president, monthly meetings where he shares fishing techniques, as well as coordinates guest speakers. Bleser has also coordinated numerous club outings including open water and ice fishing events. He won the Junior Brush Hog club tournament on Lake Geneva and has eight Top 5 finishes as well.
Niemi of Scandinavia, Wis., is a senior and member of the Waupaca Junior Bass Busters. He has earned four first-place titles and two Top 5 finishes. He also received the Lunker award for the High School/Junior teams for the 2015 year. Niemi was also a strong advocate in presenting information to the Iola-Scandinavia School Board to start the high school fishing team.
