The adage “Start early and stay late” doesn’t apply to Bassmaster Elite Series tournament days. Competitors are held to strict takeoff and check-in times, which leads to some difficult decisions. Do you head to distant waters you’ll have to yourself, or do you stay close and maximize your time with a lure in the water? Do you fish fast and cover water, or milk a spot and wait for the bass to turn on?
