OTIS, La. — Wesley Holt has an incredible 10 wins in the last year, leading up to his graduation from Oak Hill High School.
His skills on and off the water are what qualified Holt to be selected as one of only 12 members of the 2016 Bassmaster High School All-American Team.
“Wesley is a great sportsman in many areas,” said Nita Holt, Wesley’s mother. “Fishing quickly moved to the top of his list in 2012, when he helped start the first high school fishing team at his high school.”
Holt is prepping for technical school when he’s not on the water. He’s been on dual enrollment while in high school to complete welding classes at a technical college.
“Wesley is a good, dependable young man who would help me in any way he could if I asked,” wrote his teacher, Nathan Tarver.
“He has always been respectful to me and other adults here at school,” Tarver continued, “and he conducts himself with class and dignity at all fishing tournaments and events as he represents Oak Hill High School.”
Holt has served as the president of the fishing club he started at Oak Hill for the last two years.
