What does it do?
It does what most all topwater walking frogs do: walk, hop or skip along the surface, hopefully enticing a heart stopping strike.
Why do I need it?
Topwater frogs excel when bass are holed up under or around hydrilla, lily pads or most any visible cover. Frog fishing expert Dean Rojas will also walk one in open water.
How do I use it?
Though it’s called the Pad Crasher, this frog is equally at home in open water or walking (a side-to-side action accomplished by manipulating the rod tip and reel at the same time) around stumps and other visible cover such as hydrilla. Like most topwater frogs, a simple twitch-twitch-twitch action with the rod tip should be sufficient to get this amphibious bait up and going.
What sets it apart?
The Pad Crasher is designed with an underbelly that was reportedly modeled after a bass boat. Booyah claims that this makes the Pad Crasher easy to walk like the quintessential walking bait, the Zara Spook. Unlike other frogs, the Pad Crasher is designed with a weight on either side of the double hook which evenly weights it and keeps it from getting snagged in any slop it may be moving across.
