Owner’s Jig Rig hook and weight system

It’s a new way to fish soft plastics like a jig with more action and without, well, the jig.

What does it do?

It’s a new way to fish soft plastics like a jig with more action and without, well, the jig.

Why do I need it?

There are several things you can do with this rig: pitch it into sparse grass or wood, or you can crawl it along the bottom. However you use it, the bait will swing freely thanks to the rings that attaches the hook to the weight.

How do I use it?

Slide your soft plastic (the one shown is Owner’s Yuki Bug) up and around the shank like you’re making a Texas rig. You then tie your line to the ring rather than the hook or split ring. As the rig is cast, the weight leads the way, making long and accurate casts simple. Once on the bottom, the weight keeps the rig down and allows he bait to move naturally thanks to the ring.

What sets it apart?

Have you ever seen anything like this? The hook is a light-wire EWG Owner (duh) that sports a Super Needle Point and a black chrome finish. The weight is a drop shot-looking affair that’s available in lead or tungsten. Weights range from 3/16- to 1/4-ounce.

How much?

There are two variants of the Jig Rig, a tungsten one and a lead one. The prices range from $6.50 and run up to $12.50.
