What does it do?
Shallow-water anchoring system that holds the boat in position without a cumbersome rope or traditional anchor.
What sets it apart?
Aside from being extremely durable, and convenient during shallow-water navigation, the electrically powered Talons are 100-percent vertical and telescopically deploy in two- and three-stage options. They can be easily removed from the boat for storage at any time with the company’s quick-release bracket. The Talons come in numerous colors to nicely compliment boat and motor combinations; Realtree MAX-5 was added in 2014, and new for 2015 is the white-on-white combination adding a sharp contrast.
How do I use it?
The Talons can easily be deployed through the use of an after-market foot pedal or a key-fab style remote control, included with each Talon. The shallow-water anchors are extremely handy after launching the boat or before loading because the angler won’t need to tie up to the boat dock. If a school of fish is located in shallow water, drop the Talons down to avoid drifting off the spot and remain in position to make the next cast. There are also user-select modes that allows the angler to choose between rough water and soft bottom that add stability for most conditions.

There’s a good chance that I’m just lazy, but I love the fact that I can drop the Talons down within an easy step of boat docks at most ramps. That certainly reduces how much the wind will push the boat and eliminate chances of rub marks. But having the ability to sort fish during a tournament, or change lures without having my boat slip on top of where I was catching them is a huge plus. Let me put it this way: Having fished for many years without shallow-water anchors makes me appreciate them, and I’ll never own a boat with out a pair again.
