What is it?
Daiwa Tatula Elite
What sets it apart?
Extending its renowned Tatula family of reels, Daiwa now offers the Tatula Elite, specifically designed and engineered for long casting. Daiwa accomplished this by improving its precision magnetic based Magforce braking system, specifically the polarity and spring load, to create a more manageable freespool. Combined with a redesigned lightweight A7075 aluminum spool, these improvements optimize smooth, long-distance casting. Daiwa encases the Tatula Elite’s inner workings within a well-aligned aluminum frame and side plate adorned with a laser engraved D-Vec logo.
How do I use it?
Available in High Speed (6.3:1), Hyper Speed (7.1:1) and XTra Hyper Speed (8.1:1), the Daiwa Tatula Elite weighs 6.7 ounces and offers a maximum drag of 11 pounds. Daiwa’s Zero Adjustor sets the spool play at the peak resistance for the reel so it’s ready to fish right out of the box. The only adjustments needed are the Magforce sideplate settings. Ensuring all-day casting comfort, the 100 sized aluminum frame and side plate provide dependable durability and power in a compact and lightweight profile, while the 90mm Swept Handle assures a positive and comfortable retrieve.

Angler’s insight:
Whether it’s straining to reach breaking fish with a topwater or airing out a crankbait to achieve maximum diving depth, anglers will appreciate Daiwa’s effort to minimize the Tatula Elite’s startup inertia and provide a smoother casting experience. Essential to this objective is Daiwa’s proprietary T-Wing System, which reduces casting friction and controls line on the retrieve. On the outcast, the spacious T aperture moves forward to allow line to flow freely and then rotates back when the reel is engaged so line drops into the lower channel for even distribution across the spool width.
