Montevallo, Ala. – Bassmaster Elite Series pro Clent Davis, the 2018 Forrest Wood Cup Champion and 2012 FLW Tour Rookie of the Year, will become the first national pro staffer for Coosa Cotton, a lifestyle clothing brand from Birmingham, Ala.
Davis has been aware of the brand since its inception, largely because it brings recognition to the waterways he fished as kid, and those who gave birth to his love of competitive fishing and his career. As a part of the agreement, Davis will be wearing the brand’s clothing off the water and displaying the logo on his boat, truck and on his head during competition.
Davis said he’s proud of where he comes from, and what the Coosa River means to him, so it was a no brainer to partner with the brand. “I love the Coosa River; have since I was a kid fishing on Lay Lake, Lake Mitchell and Logan Martin,” he said. “The designs of the clothing bring back memories, and the product itself is really comfortable. It’s like wearing home with me wherever I go, and I love that. I’m proud to wear this brand.”
Graham Davis – no relation to his new pro staffer – said that sponsoring Davis was an easy choice. “Clent absolutely bleeds Alabama, and the heartbeat of the Coosa River is within him, so he fits Coosa Cotton,” said Coosa Cotton founder Davis. “He is a local hammer, and a really good dude, who will bring our brand tremendous recognition; working with him was a no brainer.”
Davis said that he founded the company to help Alabama’s love for bass angling to represent the passion of anglers across the country. “The Coosa River is truly the center of the state of Alabama, and the main artery for bass fishing here; we wanted our brand to represent that,” he said. “Bass anglers as a whole understand that passion, and our fish, and the companies built around it have melded with the country. This brand resonates with anglers everywhere because of it, and Clent will be the face of that visibility.”
