What is it?
Magellan Pro Angler Fishing Jacket
What sets it apart?
This hip-length jacket made of 63% nylon, 26% polyester and 11% spandex features a four-way stretch design that allows full mobility, while a tricot grid lining throughout the jacket and hood provides extra warmth. Raglan-style sleeves (one piece extending fully to the collar) allow unlimited range of motion because the garment isn’t pulling against itself. From casting a lure to netting a fish to paddling a kayak, this design allows you to move as needed.
How do I use it?
With a water-repellent surface and UV protection, the Pro Angler Fishing Jacket’s adjustable hood allows you to snug down for chilly days — or to help keep your hat in place during boat rides. Pockets are an essential element of any jacket, and this one offers two spacious, zippered hand-warmer pockets, along with interior pouch pockets (essentially, a handy space between the hand-warmer pockets and the jacket’s interior). There’s also a zippered chest pocket and a sturdy hook-and-loop chest strap that will hold sunglasses or keep a rod tucked close while rigging. It’s available in sizes S through 3XL and comes in gray and black.

David’s insight:
This jacket is not meant for harsh, soaking conditions, so the looser cuffs are a nice comfort element that allows plenty of room for layered clothing — and easy wristwatch access. If you need to snug them tighter, the hook-and-loop tabs offer that option. Because the individual sections of the tricot grid lining have a slightly raised profile, the Pro Angler Fishing Jacket has the warming feel of a heavier jacket.
