The Cricket Rocket is an alternative to mesh baskets and tubes. It’ll hold up to 250 crickets and keeps them from escaping.
What sets it apart?
This product makes fishing with crickets easy and efficient. You can easily put one cricket on the hook without having to chase down extras that escape. Plus, you don’t even have to touch the crickets.
How do I use it?
First, slide the red tab away from the tip. Then, shake the Cricket Rocket. Immediately slide the red tab toward the tip. There should be a cricket trapped in the soft, plastic nozzle. Hook the cricket through the slit in the red tip and open the red tip by pressing the lever to release your baited hook.
How much?
$12.95 for one, or $10.95 for two or more.
Philip’s insight:
A few years ago, we found this product at an outdoors show. The kids loved the name, and I was intrigued by this new gadget. Fast-forward three years and this tool has accompanied us on fishing trips from neighborhood ponds to large reservoirs. We still have our original Cricket Rockets that have survived years of abuse from small children, curious dogs and cluttered truck boxes. While I used conventional wire cases my entire life, I don’t see myself going back to one after using the Cricket Rocket. We now spend more time catching fish than chasing escaped crickets.
