WHAT IS IT?

Daiwa Tatula Cork Bass Rods

WHAT SETS IT APART:

Daiwa’s new Tatula Bass rods include Fuji Concept O guides with aluminum oxide rings. Casting rod models come in 6-8, 6-10, 7, 7-2, 7-3 and 7-4 lengths, along with a beefy 7-9 heavy-action rod for umbrella rigs and big swimbaits. For spinning rod work, anglers will find lengths from 6-8 to 7-6 handling a diverse array of presentations from finesse and forward-facing sonar techniques to Ned rigs, shaky heads, drop shots and smaller swimbaits.

HOW DO I USE IT?

Adding to its popular Tatula rod family, Daiwa debuted a new lineup of feature-rich models with technique specific actions. Winning Best Freshwater Rod honors at ICAST, Daiwa packs a lot of fishing rod into the budget-friendly price. For starters, Daiwa uses high density SVF (Super High-Volume Fiber) graphite, which amplifies energy transfer from the rod tip to the custom ergonomic reel seat for maximum bite detection. Wrapping the SVF graphite with its X45 bias process, Daiwa bolsters the blank to prevent twisting and promote accurate casts, while strengthening hook sets.

ANGLER’S INSIGHT:

It’s the appealing inverse of a well-worn glove that perfectly fits your hand. That classic cork feel, with is durability, sensitivity and personalized fit bolsters not only the rod’s aesthetics and traditional ties but also its performance. Complementing that thought, Daiwa’s SVF Nanoplus Technology maximizes graphite fiber and minimizes the amount of resin used to bind it. This strengthens the blank and lightens it by as much as 15% over the previous Tatula series.
