GEORGETOWN, S.C. — As expected, the fishing was challenging for most of the Bassmaster Elite Series field, but it made for an exciting event and the South Carolina bass showed up at the 2019 Bass Pro Shops Bassmaster Elite at Winyah bay.
For the second week in a row, Stetson Blaylock was the highest scoring angler in Bassmaster Fantasy Fishing. At the Lake Hartwell event, Blaylock finished in second place, this week he won the entire event keeping his hot streak alive.

BUCKET A: BLAYLOCK
After finishing in second place at Lake Hartwell just the week before, Stetson Blaylock’s hot streak continued. He rode the momentum to Georgetown and kicked out some impressive weights across the four-day event on Winyah Bay. Blaylock earned his 2.6-percent ownership 350 points for his first-place finish. Three hundred points for the victory, 40-bonus points for posting the derby’s heaviest bag on Day 3, and 10 bonus points per day of leadership, (Saturday and Sunday).
Second-best choice: Despite two giant fish at the end of Championship Sunday, Scott Canterbury nearly edged out Blaylock for the win, but had to settle for second place. He earned his loyal 2-percent ownership 295 points for his finish.
Worst choice: A very surprising Chris Zaldain was the lowest scoring angler in Bucket A, even after being the dominating selection among Fantasy Fishing players. Zaldain earned his 31.7-percent ownership 145 points after a tough 65th-place finish.
BUCKET B: CREWS
It makes sense that John Crews would do well at Winyah Bay considering his experience on the Potomac and Chesapeake Bay, and he did. Crews finished in fifth place having earned his loyal 18.6-percent 280 points.
Second-best choice: Clent Davis was the second-best selection in Bucket B. Davis fished all four days of official competition and earned his 0.7-percent ownership 260 points for a solid 10th-place finish.
Worst choice: Shane Lineberger was the lowest scoring angler in this bucket having earned his 0.7-percent ownership only 129 points after a tough 73rd-place finish.
BUCKET C: WILLIAMSON
The South Carolina resident proved he’s still a top contender in the Bassmaster Elite Series by finishing in a very respectable fourth place. Williamson earned his 15.8-percent 330 points, which included a 40-point bonus for the event’s big fish.
Second-best choice: Elite Series rookie Luke Palmer finished in eighth place, which made him the second-highest scoring angler in Bucket C. He produced 268 points for his 1.3-percent ownership.
Worst choice: The lowest scoring angler in this bucket was Michigan angler Chad Pipkens. Pipkens finished in 62nd place, which earned his 2.4-percent ownership 151 points.
BUCKET D: TACORONTE
Jesse Tacoronte spent his event up the Cooper River, which paid off big time and his first Top 10. With only 1.1-percent ownership, Tacoronte produced 264 points for a solid ninth-place finish.
Second-best choice: Brock Mosley was the second-best selection in this bucket. He earned his loyal 7.2-percent ownership 251 points after a strong 13th-place finish.
Worst choice: Surprisingly, Steve Kennedy was the lowest scoring angler of the entire event having finished in 75th place. What’s also interesting is he was the most owned angler in Bucket D. Kennedy only produced 125 points for his loyal 20.9-percent ownership — look for the Alabama pro to bounce back significantly in coming events.
BUCKET E: KREIGER
Koby Kreiger didn’t make the risky run to the Cooper River, but he found competitive fish not too far from Georgetown. Kreiger earned his 4.8-percent ownership 276 points after an outstanding sixth-place finish.
Second-best choice: Caleb Sumrall barely missed the Top 10 cut and finished in 11th place, making him the second highest scoring angler in Bucket E. He earned his 6.5-percnt ownership 257 points for his strong finish.
Worst choice: Kyle Monti was the lowest scoring angler in this bucket only producing 127 points for his 3.1-percent ownership after a tough 74th-place finish.
