For over a decade, Bassmaster fans have loved playing Rapala Bassmaster Fantasy Fishing. This week Bassmaster launched a second Fantasy game, Mercury Bassmaster Drain the Lake Challenge. The first tournament fans can play is the Bassmaster Elite at Lake Fork, April 22-25 (set your roster by April 22, 6 a.m. ET).
Drain the Lake presents a new format and requires players to use an entirely different strategy. Drain the Lake is considered an elimination pool game. In other words, players can only pick an Elite Series angler one time during the course of the season. Unlike traditional Fantasy Fishing, there are no buckets. Tournament players select any eight Elite Series anglers. After you choose an angler for a specific event, you can no longer select that angler for the remainder of the season.
An angler’s points will be based on finish in the tournament, just like Fantasy Fishing. The angler who wins each Elite Series event will receive double points, and the angler who wins the Bassmaster Classic will garner triple points, so choosing the angler who wins an event will be big in terms of winning the overall grand prize.
What can I win?
The Drain the Lake winning player, along with the rest of the top five players for each Elite Series tournament and the Classic, will receive a prize pack from Mercury which includes one Mercury backpack, one Mercury wall clock, one Mercury 12-can cooler bag, one Mercury first aid kit, one Mercury hat and one Mercury hoodie. A $500 Bass Pro Shops gift card will be rewarded to any individual prize winner who is a B.A.S.S. Member. The grand prize winner for the entire season will win a fishing trip with Mark Zona in Michigan, with airfare and hotel included.
How can I play?
Luckily, if you already have a Fantasy Fishing account then you are already set to begin playing Drain the Lake. A separate registration is not required. Simply visit the main Fantasy Fishing page and click on Drain the Lake. If you’re not registered, click here to sign up. Once you are registered you can play Drain the Lake and Fantasy Fishing. This is a great opportunity to win big!
Where can I find Drain the Lake?
You can always find Drain the Lake at bassmasterfantasy.com/DrainTheLake or by going to Rapala Bassmaster Fantasy Fishing and using one of the easy-to-find tabs which will take you directly to the Drain the Lake page.
How do I set my roster?
Once you have logged in or created an account, you will see the highlighted box that will allow you to set your roster for the upcoming event.
Once you make it to the roster page, you will then select the eight anglers that you think will be most successful in the upcoming tournament using the green plus (+) signs in the right hand column. Keep in mind, once you’ve selected an angler for an event, you can no longer select that angler for future events.
Once you have selected eight anglers, you will set your tiebreaker weight which will automatically carry over if you have already set a Rapala Fantasy Fishing roster. Another cool feature on the Drain the Lake roster page is the section that shows your Rapala Fantasy Fishing roster.
After you choose your roster, you are all set to play Drain the Lake!
