At 12:55, Jacob Wheeler broke a long dry spell and it helped him upgrade to 19 3/4 pounds.
"That didn't look like a 3-pounder, but I guess it is," said Wheeler, who uses a set of handheld scales to keep up with his weight. He culled a 2.73-pounder.
He is fishing near campsite on the main lake side of Chester Frost Park, an area we saw him fish yesterday. Every little bit helps at this point of what looks like a three-horse race. Matt Herren and Kevin VanDam have been making it interesting since Wheeler caught his last fish this morning.
