Of the dozen Strike King Bassmaster College Series Classic Bracket anglers to make the Bassmaster Classic, only two prior anglers made the Day 3 cut.
Jordan Lee finished 6th in 2014 at Lake Guntersville and six years later Cody Huff also made Championship Sunday, finishing 24th at Guntersville.
Louis Monetti joins those two decorated fishermen and becomes the third to fish a Championship Sunday in the Bassmaster Classic while wearing his college colors. He enters Sunday’s competition day in 23rd place with 17 pounds, 4 ounces. He finds himself just a few ounces away from a Top 20 and just under 6 pounds back from a Top 10.
Monetti has been an inspiration to fans, both young and old, after busting on the scene as 2022 College Team of the Year and Bracket Champion by way of a boat older than the 23 year old New Jersey product.
The UNC Charlotte representative sat in cheap seats of the same arena in 2019 and captioned a photo of the Bassmaster Classic with two simple words, “one day.”
