After catching one keeper and losing a bigger bass, John Cox has moved down lake from his primary creek. He fished an area with super dirty water, but found no success. Now, he is focusing on docks and wood in shorter pockets with slightly cleaner water and temperatures around 58 degrees.
The first dock he pulled up to produced his second keeper and a few casts later, he got another bite that didn’t make it to the boat. The next pocket he moved to produced his third keeper.
It’s been cloudy and chilly most of the morning, but the sun has started to make its way through. That may also help the bit for the Florida native. With still three hours before check-in, Cox is slowly making progress and with Jeff Gustafson stumbling on the final day, a limit and a kicker fish will go a long way.
